Galleri Hlemmur

galleri@hlemmur.is is a non-profit artist-run space that opened its doors in Reykjavik 1n 1999.

The gallery was established by Valgerdur Gudlaugsdottir and Thora Thorisdottir and later joined by Erla S Haraldsdottir, Magnus Sigurdarson, Petur Orn Fridriksson and Sigurdur Magnusson.

We exhibit emerging Icelandic contemporary artists and our aim is to provide a new generation of Icelandic and international artist with the facilities to realize works in form of exhibitions and projects.

Among our future projects we foresee events outside the confinement of the gallery, as well as providing the large audience with access to contemporary art.

Our web-side is under constant development, as a means to keep you informed of our activity.

Among the supporters of galleri@hlemmur.is are the Icelandic Ministry of Education and the Municipality of Reykjavik.
