Zagreus Projekt
Ulrich Krauss is the jolliest artist I have ever met, he caught me off guard. I found myself licking the gallery walls. This is Koch/Kunst, Cook/Art, an interactive gallery/restaurant/ events space. Each project is in collaboration with another artist, and specifically engineered to this space, inspired by the politics, aesthetics, economics of what Koch/Kunst might conjure. The forthcoming project concerns the people who smuggle drugs concealed in plastic pellets in their stomachs. The last project involved covering the walls of the gallery in Mono-Sodium Glutamate, bearly noticable against the white cube setting, then inviting guests to enjoy a 5-course feast containing no trace of the common additive. Often you have to reserve a table before coming to visit the space. On site, there is proffesional kitchen, which is also used to run a catering business from, which partially funds the project. The space is soon to move from the current site.
